Five stories about Egypt's Toshka land-reclamation project in the southern desert. They were placed on the IBBY Honour List in 2000. Together with *A Life of the Prophet Muhammad in Twenty Tales*, they were also cited for his Best Children's Writer award and the Suzanne Mubarak prize (1998 – 1999).
